He named it Greywacke after the round stones that lay by the vineyard in the river bed. Now he has extensive vineyards in most areas of Marlborough also buying grapes from specialist grape growers and all his wine is made at Dog Point Winery. Greywacke Sauvignons are now the most prized in New Zealand and have attained many medals over the past few years.
