Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Champonnet, Domaind Philippe Cheron 2014 75cl

Medium ruby-garnet colour. Aromas of loam, moss, truffles and tar contribute earthy complexity to the ripe raspberry, dark chocolate and hung meat core. The palate is very refined, rich yet wonderfully balanced by medium acidity. Very, very long finish.

Pinot Noir

Champagne and Burgundy’s is the best region for Pinot Noir followed by New Zealand and Oregon. California, South Africa and Australia are making some great Pinot Noirs as well not forgetting Canada. Pinot Noir makes a noticeably pale wine, but has intense perfume and flavour. When young, its aromas range from freshly crushed raspberries or strawberries to plum jam. With age, Pinot Noir often shows violets, game or truffles.
