Gavi di Gavi, Lugarara has a straw-yellow hue. Aromas of white fruit, stone fruit and lime zest with a subtle persistent bouquet of green apples. A charming wine with the structure of a Burgundy yet the elegance of light summer wine. Its being low in alcohol is an added bonus compared to the new world whites. Acidity is fresh and on the finish pleasant almond notes linger.

Cortese

The grape for Gavi, one of Italy‘s best known whites, Cortese is grown almost exclusively in Piemonte, particularly around Alessandria. Usually vinified unoaked, at its best, it is aromatic but minerally, with good acidity even when fully ripe. It is also seen in Lombardy and the Veneto where the resulting wines are crisp and fresh.
