One of our favourite rosés of this summer. Pale pink in colour, with lively notes of strawberries and raspberries on the nose. Full-bodied in the mouth, with refreshing acidity. This wine has delicate fruits-of-the-forest flavours and a long, elegant finish. This wonderful summery Pinot Noir rosé is an elegant alternative to its famous cousins from Provence.

More Information

In the village of Crézancy, seven kilometres west of Sancerre, the Sautereau family has been producing wine for nine generations. The winery is now being run by David Sautereau, who is producing modern, attractive wines that offer excellent value for money. Their Sancerre Rosé 2015 is a wonderful rosé from this successful vintage. Made from lightly-pressed Pinot Noir grapes, the wine spent three months on the lees to provide greater depth.

A light pressing and cool fermentation of the delicate Pinot Noir fruit ensured retention of the pure, red fruit character while three months on the lees provided extra complexity and richness. Like David Sautereau`s Sancerre Blanc, the wine was stored in stainless steel vats and bottled six months after the harvest for extra freshness.
