Run by the eponymous Fred Loimer since 1998, this estate has been committed to biodynamic methods since the mid-1990s. Vines are planted around the sunny and dry district of Kamptal in the village of Langenlois in Austria, an area well-known for its Riesling. Practices take into account the seasons, as well as lunar and solar rhythms. Reflecting the vinification process and terroir, this wine is a bright lemon yellow in the glass. The nose has great purity with herbal notes and intense grapefruit aromas, which continue on to the palate. This wine is crisp and invigorating with vibrant acidity.

Fred Loimer owns 26 hectares around Langenlois, in the Kamptal region of Lower Austria. Situated at 200-400m above sea level, the climate of the Kamp Valley is characterised by cool nights and warm days, with a long, sunny autumn.The high summer temperatures are mitigated by the River Danube and the Waldviertel (forested area). Harvested in mid October with a must weight of 17-18 KMW(Klosterneuburger Mostwaage) , the grapes were whole bunch pressed due to the small proportion of botrytis (20%) which was present. Riesling A variety with plenty of nominations for the title of ‘greatest white grape variety in the world‘, Riesling has however, despite the wine trade‘s love affair with this grape, failed to capture the affection of the wine-drinking public outside its homeland in the same way as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. Its inimitable, unique flavour is hard to describe and takes time to appreciate, however, few varieties have its capacity to reflect the land in which they‘re grown along with its own distinctive character, visible decades after bottling. Full of limey, green-apple fruit in its heartland of Germany and lean citrus notes in the Clare Valley in Australia, with the unmistakeable ‘kerosene‘ note in warmer climates, it is capable of greatness whether bone-dry, zesty off-dry or lusciously sweet.
