(V)The word Mahi means ‘our work’, ‘our craft’ in Maori. This is a great Chardonnay with a fresh structure and a complex palate, delivered by the vineyards, wild-ferment and barrel characters. The fruit comes from the Twin Valleys vineyard, which we have been working with since 2003. This is a complex, textural wine that exhibits the slight creaminess on the mid-palate that is the key characteristic of Chardonnay. The structure still retains acidity, with length and freshness. Ideal on its own on the terrace, roast chicken, asparagus and steamed salmon.
