This Barbera has an enticing nose with hints of leather, meat and black cherry, vibrant entry on the mouth, suggestions of stone fruit, fennel and wild herbs, beautiful natural acidity. Good concentration and balanced finish. All vineyards are farmed organically with great emphasis on the overall health of the vines and working with reduced yields. The vines are produced according to organic methods using natural vinification and restricted use of sulphur.

Barbera

Although grown throughout Italy Barbera’s natural home is Piemonte, (roughly half the wine of all Piemonte’s wine is Barbera) indeed its birthplace is usually thought to be in the hills of Monferrato around the town of Asti. Often described as the ‘people’s wine’ of Piemonte it is a highly versatile variety capable of styles running from the very light and fruity to the substantial and complex. A distinctive characteristic of Barbera is its quite high levels of acidity that make a consummate wine to accompany food.
