Situated in the heart of the Marlborough region, Mahi produces perhaps the most Burgundian of New Zealand Pinot Noirs. This outstanding wine comes from three different vineyards throughout Marlborough; each adds a particular character and intensity to the blend. A full and rich bouquet, this Pinot is crunchy and fresh, concentrated, ripe and supple with good complexity. Dark cherries and plums combine with soft tannins to give a long, well-rounded and savoury finish. A good food wine, it is great with poultry.

Pinot Noir

Champagne and Burgundy are the best regions for Pinot Noir followed by New Zealand and Oregon. California, South Africa and Australia are making some great Pinot Noirs as well not forgetting Canada. Pinot Noir makes a noticeably pale wine, but has intense perfume and flavour. When young, its aromas range from freshly crushed raspberries or strawberries to plum jam. With age, Pinot Noir often shows violets, game or truffles.
