Aromas of cherries and spiced plums that gives way to a ripe, supple yet elegant fruit on the palate. Good acidity and clean on the finish.
Squinzano DOC Tacco Barocco, Sampietrana, Puglia 2016/17 75cl –
Tremendous depth of black/red colour, with perfumes of wild roses and dark cherries. Rich, powerful structure, with dark chocolate cherry fruit characters, robust but nicely balanced tannins and good depth.
Primitivo, I Muri, Puglia 2021/22 75cl –
Bright ruby in colour with perfumes of bitter cherries and a twist of raspberry. On the palate, bright, lively fruit with good intensity of ripe, summer berries and a hint of liquorice. Long and elegant on the finish.
Chianti Classico, Poggiotondo, Tuscany 2020/21 75cl –
A full flavoured wine with distinctly earthy tones. Lots of cherry fruit nose, followed by a substantial breadth on the palate and good length on the finish.
Nero d’Avola, Canicatti, Sicily 2021/22 75cl –
A very concentrated herbaceous nose with great balance, ripe tannins and hedgerow fruit. Structured and a good length.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Gran Sasso, Marche 2021/22 75cl –
Deep black-red in colour with a youthful dark purple rim. Aromas of spice, red berries and chocolate with a rich, supple tannin structure and rounded ripe blackberry fruit character.
