(V) and (VG) Altos Las Hormigas is based in Lujan de Cuyo, the only officially recognised appellation in Mendoza, one of the top three wine producing regions in Argentina. The estate is actually owned and developed by two Italians from Tuscany who realised its potential back in the mid 1990s. The Malbec comes from a variety of vineyards set on 7-10% active lime which gives this wine its particular structure. Great intensity with red berries, liquorice and violet. Fine tannins and a long finish. Delicious with beef dishes. A Malbec masterpiece. Biodynamic.
