(V)A generous wine with good structure, aromas of ripe black stone fruits, hints of purple flowers, mocha and cacao. Good with a steak.

Originally grown mainly in the Médoc and is still used to blend in red wines. It's principal areas in recent years are Cahors and Argentina, where it expresses a vivid blackberry fruitiness and a silky firmness.
