Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, Domaine de Durban 2015 37.5cl

Light gold in colour with lovely fine, floral notes and a bouquet of citrus and exotic, tropical fruit. On the palate  pure citrus and apricot flavours, subtle mint and spice A great level of acidity on the finish and  impeccable balance.

Muscat

Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains is considered to be the best quality Muscat and is known as Moscato Bianco in Italy. Planted all over Italy and much of France, both are used to produce sweet wines, often relatively low in alcohol (as for Moscato d‘Asti) or from dried or semi-dried grapes. Believed to be the oldest cultivated wine grape, it is thought, like Malvasia, to have originated from Greece and is still grown there. Its small berries are intensely perfumed, with a characteristic sherbety, grapey quality when vinified fresh and a luscious, orange blossom character when vinified dried. Australia‘s Liqueur Muscats are made from the same variety, known as Brown Muscat.
