Ribolla Gialla / Rebula
Ribolla Gialla / Rebula variety known in Friuli, north eastern Italy, documents have shown it as dating back to 1289 as in a Friulian contract. In 1402, Udine decreed That it Should be protected against adulteration and then a few centuries later, at the end of the 18th century, it was rated the finest white wine of Friuli. Phylloxera almost wiped it out and the vineyards were replanted with new Often subsequently, French varieties.
