Touraine, in the Loire Valley, is justly famed for its Sauvignon Blanc which invariably combines that elusive ‘prix/qualité’ (price/quality) nexus so favoured by the French. Thierry Delaunay comes from a family long experienced with the Sauvignon grape. This white wine is made the same way as red wine, leaving the skins with the must during fermentation which eventually creates an amber or orange colour in the wine. This Sauvignon Blanc reveals bold aromas of dried mandarin zest, honey and almonds. The palate is clean and fragrant with a great grip, orange peel and honeysuckle notes coming to the fore. A deliciously complex wine with an elegant minerality and structure and a long finish.
