Medoc Tasting on the 15th November 2022

Events

The Cru Bourgeois du Medoc tasting was held in the elegant Institute of Directors where there was a selection of 2018, 2019 and 2020 vintages.

I found the 2018’s maturing well with and very smooth. 2019 was light and dry but I did manage to find one or two gems. The success of the tasting were 2020’s. All have elegance, good concentration, yet easy drinking. Some could be ideal drinking now or within the next 10 years.

My favourites were the following:

Chateau le Bourdieu, Medoc 2018
Chateau de Panignon, Medoc 2018
Chateau Haut Madrac, Haut-Medoc 2018
Chateau le Crock, Saint-Estephe 2018
Chateau Meric, Medoc 2019
Chateau la Fon du Berger, Haut-Medoc 2019
Chateau Semeillan Mazeau, Listrac-Medoc 2019
Chateau Beauvillage, Medoc 2020
Chateau Nouret, Medoc 2020
Chateau Dillon, Haut-Medoc 2020
Chateau Malescasse, Haut-Medoc 2020
Chateau Biston-Brillette, Moulis-en-Medoc 2020
Chateau Plantey, Pauillac 2020
Chateau Tour des Termes, Saint-Estephe 2020
